Rustic Furniture builders Don McAulay, Sr. & Jr. design and build quality Adirondack rustic furniture such as birch bark cabinets with mosaic twig inlays, rustic tables, rustic mirror frames, rustic lamps, and western barn wood furniture. Each piece is handcrafted individually by the craftsman to be used as functional heirloom-quality furniture. Traditional woodworking techniques are commonly used in this rustic furniture, such as mortise and tenon joinery, dovetail drawers, and birch bark veneering. Selective harvesting methods allow them to use all portions of the raw materials including the tree roots and bark. Many of these rustic furnishings are fashioned with golden birch and maple branches, willow saplings, figured live-edge hardwoods, birch bark, salvaged barn wood, river stone, and acorns.
